Welcome to the website of the “Constraints” project.
The PI of “Constraints” is Cyrille Violle, researcher at the CEFE, the largest French research center in Ecology. Thanks to ERC (European Research Council) starting grant , Cyrille Violle and his lab is conducting research on ecophysiological and biophysical constraints on domestication in crop plants.
CONSTRAINTS questions whether crop domestication has shifted ecophysiological and biophysical traits related to resource acquisition, use and partitioning, and how trade-offs between them have constrained domestication and can limit future improvements in both optimal and sub-optimal conditions.
